problem with computer restarting

my computer just keeps restarting. just at random moments.
i tried system restore and that doesn't seem to help at
all. i downloaded the update that is supposed to fix the
memory dumping problem and still it has the same problem.
when it restarts it says system has recovered from a
serious error. i send the report and download the driver
updates when they are available. but nothing seems to help.
