Can't assume anything but....

You have to disable Active Desktop to get the text transparent again

(1) Right-click desktop > Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web
Uncheck all the boxes in "Web Pages"

(2) Right -click desktop > Arrange Icons by > Uncheck "Lock Web Items on
Desktop"
