Hi,
As long as it recognizes the WinME installation for what it is, then the
upgrade will allow you to format and proceed with a clean installation. If
it cannot read the existing system (you don't need to boot it, but the
volume upon which it resides cannot be corrupt to the point where it is
unreadable), then you will need a WinME CD (retail or generic OEM disk, not
a System Restore disk) to provide as a qualifier. If you do not own one of
these disks, I would suggest you buy the full version anyhow, as if you ever
need to format and reinstall down the road, the upgrade disk will require
that you provide this.
