That is true, and I agree that the wording does not bear the
interpretation that MS representatives here (not MVPs) put on it
But OTOH you must recognise that on the literal interpretation you put
forward, then if the system is bought with (say) a hard disk, and that
fails, then the license fails with it. I am inclined to think that in
the absence of clarification, you are better to go along with the other
one, in which there *is* a grey area as to when it ceases to be the
original computer if you go on modifying.
I have asked for clarification on all this from high levels - but am
not holding my breath.
