Upgrading Home Edition to Professional

I'm thinking about buying a new compaq PC, only problem is that it comes
with the home edition on it. However, I do have a full version WindowsXP
professional as part of my Microsoft Action Pack.

Does anyone know if this will allow me to upgrade over the top of the home
edition.
