Ramesh,
Yes, I updated both of Ad-Aware & Spybot before I ran them for the first
time. Niether of them found "ShopNav" or any of its components (using
manual removal instructions, I never found any of its components either).
But later I noticed Ad-Aware had some Registry entries affecting search
websites in IE. I removed them and that seems to have solved the problem.
Thank you for all of your help. It was very useful.
Conan Kelly

Ramesh,
I tried everything that you mentioned in your reply post but couldn't
eradicate ShopNav. When ever I open IE, the SpyBot-SD Resident detects
something trying to change my registry to use the ShopNav site for
searching. When searching my system for files/folders/registry entries for
those listed on http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/ShopNav.html, none were
found. Is there some other variant that has files/folders/registry entries
with names different than those listed on the Doxdesk site?
Thanks again for any help anyone can offer,
Conan Kelly

Download all of these utilities and scan the system.
Note: Spyware removers are rules-based and are updated very frequently as
and when new malware is discovered. Therefore, update both of these tools
before scanning, very important.

Has anyone seen this?
I have the address bar enabled in my task bar. Normally when I want to
search the internet I type a phrase into the address bar (either Windows
taskbar address bar or MS IE address bar), it would search using MSN's
search engine by default. I just noticed recently that it is using some
"Shopnav" site as default search engine. How can I change this back to
MSN's search engin or another?
Thank you for any help anyone can provide,
Conan Kelly
