Please do not post in uppercase. It's the internet equivalent of screaming. System
Restore only deals with the Windows Operating System, and even at that will not replace
the many system files. It deals mostly with the registry and user settings. It will not
replace files that were deleted from Software like WORKS.

1. For unknown missing files from Windows XP you would need your Windows XP CD to do a
"Repair Install"

For a step by step walk though of a Repair Install including screen shots, go to:

http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/repair_xp.htm

When the page opens, scroll down and click on: How To Run A Repair Install

2. You would need your MS WORKS CD to reinstall MS WORKS.

If you purchased Windows XP and MS WORKS retail, to replace the CDs:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[ln];326246

If Windows XP and/or WORKS was bundled on a new system: It is considered OEM (Original
Equipment Manufacturer), which means that all support is the responsibility of the company
which made the system, NOT Microsoft. In that case, if your system is still under
warranty, you would contact Support for the maker of your system, and request replacement
CDs.
