You're right, A few people have said the same thing, it looks like I will have to go out and buy XP and reload again from scratch as the pc is second hand and came with XP already loaded, no discs at all.

Not good news.

I was advised to install Nero and Power DVD and these would have run the drives with no problems and also not upset XP either........ah the benefit of hindsight eh?

Oh well, better start saving then..

Oh..by the way, dont know what you mean by 'set the bios'...what do I do to do that, especially if the computer just sits there with that config\system message and wont let me do anything else....

Should have stuck to fixing phone lines in Moorcroft...
