About two months ago, I had my Dell desktop crash and was
running Windows XP Home. I had bought a copy of XP Pro at
school and decided to install that rather than reinstall
HOme and all my software. I installed Pro and activated
it. About two days ago I got a message that the Windows
has not been activated. I retyped in the info and the 25
character key on my CD and things seemed to be OK until
today. Now I am getting the same message about it not
being activated and when I go to retype in my cd key, it
tells me that it is already activated and will not let me
ractivate it. When I try to contact Microsoft I need a
product code. There help tells me to click Help and
Support to get it off the start menu but I can't get to
the start menu. Can anyone give me an XP Pro product
code? Also is there any kind of virus going around that
could be causing this? I keep up-to-date on all my
Windows patches and my virus scan but maybe I missed
something?
