3 New Icons, and a Powerful Pop Up

Hi

Recently when my client has been turning on his computer (not evertime, but sometimes) there are 3 New Icons on his desktop. These 3 New Icons are marketing certain products.

How do I stop these specific Icons from coming up?

Also, my client will be in the middle of creating an E-mail on his MSN Account, and a pop up for the same company as the Icons will take over, and rather than create a New Pop Up Window, it will actually Pop Up in place of the E-mail. Thusly, he loses the E-mail in the process.

Any help is appreciated.
