Thanks for the replies and suggestions. I solved it shortly after posting my question here. What I did was: right click on the jpeg picture file, go to properties, under 'opens with', I clicked on 'change'. I selected ACDsee to open the jpeg file and made sure the checkbox is ticked for 'always use the selected program to open this kind of file'. That's it. :)
