I have a Pentium 4 Compaq d310 xp desktop system. I have
a Benq external CDRW drive which is plug and play high
speed USB 2.0. The computer will not install it
automatically as it should when you connect the USB.
It asks to install the driver but does not find it. I
verified that the drivers are in the Windows\system32
\drivers folder but it still fails to install. I also
copied the drivers from an exact system where the USB
worked and it still didn't install. There are no yellow
or red ! warning in device manager, The USB host
controllers device and drivers have no warning or errors.
The Benq also installs just fine on the other exact
system.
Any suggestions other than reimaging would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark
