hardrive enclosure problems

I had a computer breakdown. the operating system was XP so the files are ntfs and encrypted. I pulled the hardrive out and am trying to access them using an external enclosure hooked up to another computer. When I do I get a prompt saying access denied. can anyone help.

both computers are using windows xp.
