The best solution that I have seen yet is SBC Global's Address Guard.
This allows you to create up to 100 'front' email addresses that feed
into your real email address. You use the alias addresses with all
public communications. When the spammers get ahold of an alias and you
start getting alot of spam then you just 'prune' the alias from the tree
of alias' that you have generated and voila, spam from that alias stops!
It's a thing of beauty. You can even create alias' for your close
associates and if you start getting spam from them then you know one of
them is guilty of selling your address.
