windows Exlporer runs slow when copying data

Hi all,

When copying data from a local drive or a mapped/network location in a windows explorer session, the computer becomes completey sluggish. but once the copying has finished the copmuter runs not to bad.

Anyone with any ideas on what could be the problem?
