Hello all,
I need to run a "clean" re-install of XP Professional on
my laptop. I ran the install from the cd and it seemed
to go ok, but it did not remove the existing users, files
and folders from the disk. It just put XP onto the disk.
I tried again and at the part where it looks at existing
partitions on the disk, I asked it to delete the current
partition (there was only one) so that a new one could be
created, but it wouldn't allow that to happen. I asked
it to create a new partition, but the system gave no
response to the "C" command - in that context "C" is used
to create a new partition.
My goal is to wipe the hard disk clean of all existing
files, then load a pristine version of XP onto the disk,
allowing the system to be as it was out of the box.
Any assistance is much appreciated.
Regards.
Chuck
