I don't know exactly what you mean by "appearance", but Customizing your
Computer, Networking and Security is covered fully in Help by some
well-written articles. Look on the Help and Support "home" page.

These are supplemented by Knowledge Base Articles and web information,
e.g. www.microsoft.com/security. There are also some pretty terrific
books on sale by Microsoft, Que, O'Reilly, and other publishers.

And yes .. what's written in the above books often gets asked over and
over here.
