I have a major problem with accessing an old Documents
folder after I was forced to reinstall Windows.

I had a major crash after running a program and it
basically killed my OS as I could no longer boot up no
matter what I tried, so I decided to reinstall.

I first tried to repair the installation using the
Windows XP Setup CD, and while it was running, it hit a
snag, and could not find the GetIUMS in the file
msdart.dll

I could not do anything, and so decided to just do a full
re-install over the old installation. It completed and
completely reset all my Windows settings, which is fine.
But I noticed that all my other files and folders were
still intact. The old drivers and programs that I had
installed were not registering as being installed, but
that was fine. I would just delete and probably reinstall
all the programs and drivers.

The main issue is that my old documents folder now
completely denies me access to it. There were 3 users, 1
primary (called Andre) and 2 others which were secondary.
The secondary users' documents are accessible. It's only
the main user's documents that are not accessible.

The reinstall asked for a new user name, and I used Andre
again. So now in my Documents and Settings folder, I have
the old document folders, and the new ones. The new
folders were renamed to Andre.XXXXX(computer name) and
Administrator.XXXXX.
The old Administrator Documents folder is still
accessible. Again, the only folder where is says "Access
is Denied" is the old Andre Documents folder.

Is there any way to get the files from that folder out? I
was hoping to be able to get those files so that I could
back them up, and then just format this hard drive and
get a completely fresh install in.
