Well, I obviously didn't try hard enough. I retried using Regmon & this
time checked for changes by refreshing the view in Regedit which I
didn't do the 1st time! The key is:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Ad
vanced]
"Hidden"=dword:00000001
Which hides hidden files. Replacing the dword with 2, unhides.
Because clicking any icon on the Desktop removes the focus from the last
accessed/viewed folder, I have to refresh the folder(s) in turn. Anyone
know of a method to automatically refresh all open Explorer windows?
Regards
