I agree with the other comments about replacing the hardware, at least
to the greatest extent possible.
The basic hardware requirements for Windows XP are substantially
higher than those for NT4 and W2K, especially with regard to RAM
quantity. Any machines with less than 512 mb of RAM should
definitely be considered for replacement.
And your support and roll-out work will be greatly simplified if you
can standardize on one specific hardware specification for all your
computers, at least on a regional basis if not company-wide. Try to
support multiple hardware configurations can be a nightmare.
