1 - it's a bad idea to try to upgrade to fix a problem. Usually it just
makes it worse or it stays the same. You should always fix a prob before
doing an upgrade install or do a fresh install.
2 - Sounds like a bad driver or a heat problem. Update all your drivers to
xp compatable drivers and make sure all your fans are working correctly. Add
more fans if needed.
