OK, you have your reasons.
You can read up about it online.
Learn about:
FDISK
format
diskpart
partions

Now a good starting website for *installing* is the Microsoft website; but
is a bit confusing because it doesn't explain the difference from a 'new'
installation and one absolutely from scratch, but it is a good read
regardless:
http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsXP/expertzone/columns/honeycutt/02october07.asp
Watch the word wrap on the URL.
A really good website that takes you step-by-step thorugh the whole process:
http://www.blackviper.com/Articles/OS/InstallXPHome/installxphome1.htm
for XP Home ed. and:
http://www.blackviper.com/Articles/OS/InstallXPPro/installxppro1.htm
for XP Pro ed.
Hope this helps to get you started.

| Well i've stated this problem a few times and I can't come
| up with any soluations. Situation is this - I accidently
| went into the registry and deleted things I shouldn't of.
| I'm thinking I'm getting rid of this annoying spyware, and
| I must of deleted something crucial. My system runs
| still...but I can't get system restore to work. It's a
| blank window. My task bar is crazy. Nothing will minimize
| on it, and when it does, it goes BEHIND the taskbar....and
| for whatever reason, my McAfee Virus scanner is disabled,
| it won't work, even when i do reinstall it. I keep getting
| some message that Active Sheild isn't working propperly,
| or something is missing. It's driving me nuts. One small
| mistake leads into this. I've heard from others that my
| only option would be to reinstall. I dont know what else
| it could be.
