did you try to upgrade from xp home to xp pro? i got the same problem, but i could still run the home version. i tried uninstalling Norton antivirus 2004. it didnt help.. i think it was not completely uninstalled, or something else is happening. this never happened when i upgraded another comp from Me to XP pro.
man i need xp pro to install oracle. any solution to this?
