Neither Office or Windows XP should be a problem. I'm not sure what you mean by
"trashing" but you should at least wipe/format the HD on the old PC to be
strictly correct. Then if it's been at least 120 days since you installed
Office and XP the new installation will activate automatically over the
Internet. Worst case, you might have to call a toll-free number and explain the
deal to MS.
