If you have XP Pro, open Explorer, go to Tools, select Folder Options, go to
the View tab, scroll to the bottom of the list, remove the check from "Use
Simple File Sharing," click apply and ok. Now right click the folder or
file in Explorer, select Security and Sharing.
If you have Home Edition, simple file sharing is hard wired into the system.
You'll have to perform the above from Safe Mode. Boot the system, start
tapping F8, when the menu appears, select Safe Mode and press enter. In
safe Mode, follow the above steps.
