You have nevertheless probably built up a collection of things running
without your realising , and fighting. And quite a lot of the utilities
that are recommended are not that good - and they fight too. Not to
mention parasites of all sorts. Read up at
http://www.aumha.org/a/parasite.htm and use the tools it suggests -
particularly AdAware and Spybot as a start. You may be astonished to
find how much there is around
