Hello John,

Thank you for posting here.

To isolate this issue, we need determine if this is related with tablet PC
or Windows XP. Could you provide me with more information?

1. Does this issue only occur on tablet PC?

2. You have mentioned that you have performed a clean install of Windows XP
on the tablet PC but the issue still occurs. Is this correct?

3. Has the issue occurred ever since you first mapped the drives?
4. Please capture two screenshots for further research; one of the blank
icon, and another of the 8.3 format dialog box.

To capture a screenshot:

a. Press the 'Print Screen' key on your keyboard (it may instead appear as
'PrnScrn', or something similar)
b. Click Start->Programs->Accessories and select the Paint program.
c. In the Paint program, select the Edit menu, and then select Paste.
d. Save this file and email it to me as an attachment.

For your convenience you may send the information to me at
v-qiz@microsoft.com

I hope the information I have provided you with proves helpful!
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to let me know. I am glad
to be of assistance.
Thanks and regards,
Alex Zhang
