Got to the next hurdle.
Found HPT372 RAID driver from HighPoint Tech. Copied it to a floppy.
Used PF6 during install and loaded it from the floppy. Now I get to the
repair installation screen where I can choose the my "Windows XP Home Edition"
load.
Install continues, then the red thermometer tells me that the PC will
auto-reboot in
15 seconds. It does, get past the Black Windows Screen. Then I get the
following:
-----------------------
A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to
your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your
computer. If this
screen reappears, follow these steps:
Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard disks or
hard
disk controllers. Check your hard disk to make sure it is properly configured
and
terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard disk corruption and then restart
your computer.
Technical information:
*** stop: 0x0000007b (oxf8951640, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
----------------------
I booted up my WIN98 startup diskette and ran Scandisk from my C: drive. No
errors.
Rebooted and got the same stop screen.
What next ?
Thanks,
Mike
