Hey:

I have recently acquired a laptop that is configured with WXPPro. When I
first started it (it's a HP nx9010) WXPPro configured itself and the system
was set up after running through the standard 1st run dialogs and
configuration panels. I am the only user, and I log on as administrator
(and see only Administrator) in the Documents and Settings folders.

Everything on the laptop works fine with one exception. It doesn't appear
that
Windows can save some preferences. What I mean by this is the following -

1. There is no memory of passwords even though I have enabled this
capability and respond that Windows should remember them when I browse to
various password enabled pages.
2. There is no memory of passwords in my email program - each new session
results in me being prompted to enter my SMTP and pop3 server passwords,
even though I have elected to have Windows/OE remember those items.
3. Form autocompletion does not appear to be working, even though I have
elected to have this feature enabled.

There may be others, but I haven't catalogged them.

Can anyone think of a good (or even a bad) reason for this to be happening?
