There has been quite a bit of discussion in this group from people who
dislike the "My eBooks" folder as to where it comes from (not the
operating system but from third-party software, Adobe I believe) and
how to get rid of it. Do a search for the issue using Google Groups and
the Advanced option, searching specifically for this newsgroup.
The "My Pictures" is a system file and as far as I know you cannot get
rid of it. It's part of Windows.
