Windows Sounds

The Windows sounds and RealOne Player recently stopped
working, for no reason. Windows Media Player and audio
streaming were unaffected. I fixed RealOne Player by
downloading the newest version plus updating my audio
driver (SIS7012). Problem is, the Windows sounds still
don't work. Even the sound effect when Windows boots up
isn't there. Also, I can't get the volume control to
appear in the taskbar, which may be part of the same
problem. The Hardware Manager is showing everything
working OK. Any suggestions?
