In Internet Explorer -
1. Tools > Internet Options > Advanced
2. Scroll down to the Security Settings.
3. Make sure that the two boxes are checked that say
"Enable SSL 2" or "Enable SSL 3".
Try your secure sites.
Another thing you can try is:
Go to start/run
Type in: regsvr32 softpub.dll

> Like Becky i am having the same problem accessing secure sites like hotmail
and my bank, even Windows update and the reversi game fails to load. I have
tried all the recommendations offered by the folk who replied to beckys
question, but alas to no avail, they all failed spectacularly. I did fix the
problem a few months back by restoring the system to another date, but even that
choice is wanting at the moment as the calendar doesn't give the option of
choosing an alternate date, (day or month). I suppose if all else fails then i
will have to back all my files up and re-install my XP home edition. What a
pain!
