Try doing it in Safe Mode (press the F8 key on boot, but BEFORE the Windows
XP logo). Then you will see a menu screen. Press the number key for Safe
Mode. When Safe Mode loads, just before the Desktop opens, a box will come
up asking if you want to load the Safe Mode Desktop, click the YES button.
Once In Safe Mode, you should be able to left click to remove the check mark
to the left of Automatically Restart as described below.
