Yes, using a Restore Disk to take your computer back to factory
condition will result in exactly that - a computer just like when you
first got it. If Outlook did not come with the computer, you would then
have to reinstall it from the original Office cd. You would have to set
up your Internet connection again, just the way you did when you first
got the machine. If Gateway is suggesting you do a Repair Install using
their Restore Disk, then there is a good chance everything will be
fine, but there is no way to be 100% sure.
Did you already try a System Restore? If you are unsure how to fix your
computer, you may want to take it to a good local repair shop (not a
BestBuy or CompUSA type of store) and explain to them what you've been
doing and what your concerns are. It might be worth it to have them
sort things out for you.
