On a Windows XP Professional system when I try to copy files and/or folders
from a shared folder on a Window XP Home Edition to the local C: drive on
the Windows XP Professional system, I always receive an Access Denied error.

I shared a folder on the Windows XP Professional system and went to the
computer running Windows XP Home Edition. When I am on the Windows XP Home
Edition computer I can copy files/folders to the shared folder on the
Windows XP Professional system without any errors.

I searched the Microsoft Knowledge Base finding this article:

File Lock or Access Denied Error Message When You Save Files Over the
Network
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=812937

The article refers to the EnableOplocks (assuming this is a DWORD) entry in
this registry hive:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters

I ran REGEDIT, went to the registry hive, and EnableOplocks did not exist in
the registry hive.

Should I add this entry as a DWORD and set the value per the Microsoft
Knowledge Base article, or not to add this to the registry because of
possibly causing other problems?
