I need help! My windows xp won't start.
I stupidly tried to use partition magic to create a new partition. After I
restarted the PC it would arrive onto the windows XP splash screen and then
restart.
Somehow Partition Magic has corrupted my windows.
I have no idea how to fix this. I could try a fix on the recovery console,
but besides fixmbr I don't know of any other commands which could fix the
problem.
Also, now when it restarts it goes to the safe mode choice screen. If I
could only get to my GRUB screen I could log onto Linux on my second drive
and back up my important data.
So, my question is either : is there a command to fix a corrupted drive or a
way is there a way to avoid the safe mode choices screen so I can select to
log onto Linux.
Thank you and sorry if my writing is not written too well... I'm shaking
with fear that I may have lost years worth of data.
