The webcam option is a TWAIN device I believe. WinXP does not like two
TWAIN devices connected simultaneously. If you had a scanner or another
camera connected at the time of the webcam install, this might be the
source of the problem. Remove all of the camera software and TWAIN from
Add/Remove Programs. Connect the camera, and remove it from Scanners
and Cameras. Reboot. Reinstall everything. It is also possible that
Norton interferred with the install, since it is implicated in other
reported installation problems. I've never had any difficulties with
it.
