Monitor keeps going to standby

I just purchased a Sony Desktop (Model PCVRZ40C) and a
flat panel TFT Display.A problem has existed with this
system since I first started using this system. I have
sent 3 e-mails and talked to 7 different service reps ai
Sony about this problem and the problem still exists. The
problem is that after 20-40 seconds, the display screen
goes black, and appears to be in standby, because the
monitor power light is on (green).The only way I can get
the pitchure back is to turn the display off with the
display on/off switch. I have to cycle the switch off &
on several times before the picture will remain on. Each
time I turn the disply on the pitchure will come on for a
few seconds, then the screen goes black. After cycling
the switch several times the pitchure will remain on for
another 20-40 seconds, then go black again, and I have to
cycle the switch again to get the pitchure back. I have
reset the BIOS to default values. Moved the display to
different areas No halogen or flourescent lights are near
the monitor. The monitor power plug is plugged in to a
separate wall receptacle. I have tried the displa with
another computer running Windows ME and the problem does
not occur. I have the power option properties set with
everthing set at "Never". I have also uninstalled and
reinstalled the display adapter driver. This problem is
very annoying to say the least. I also ran the monitor on
a 10 year old computer with Windows ME and the monitor
worked fine. The problem is in the desktop. Has anyone
ever experienced this problem? Can anyone help. Any help
would be very much appeciated. Sony has not let me take
the system to a service center they keep telling me to
call tech support. Please help. Thanks in advance.
