Replacing the cpu

The simple answer is that NO, there are many varieties
of Pentium 4 and unfortunately they are NOT inter-
changeable. If you put in the wrong one, and it may
well fit in your socket, it can a) fail to work or
b) damage the CPU or c) damage your mobo.
Unless you are 100% confident that you have all of the
correct info - you should really take this to a pro to
do it. Better yet, take your computer to a pro and let
them figure out what's wrong. Don't make an expensive
mistake to avoid a relatively inexpensive service call.
