Hi all. I have dual boot, XP Home and Pro. I've had the Home running for a year or so but just added the Pro partition. The shutdown in Pro is slow compared to Home. I've read a lot of the posts here and have applied several of the regedits and MS patch to no avail. It's slow, but not as slow as some report. I'd say the "saving ..." screen displays for 20-25 seconds or so, and the drive light is on, then it shuts off. Home only shows this screen for a few seconds then shuts down, much quicker for sure.

My questions >> Is this just a quirk of Pro or is there indeed something wrong? Could it be just the extra networking stuff in Pro taking it's time to shutdown?

This is a stand alone PC, no network involved except for the cable connection. P2.4, 512 mb RAM, etc ...

Thanks.
