Not so fast.
Time Warner denies reports of AOL sale to Microsoft
http://www.computerworld.com/news/2004/story/0,11280,91445,00.html
"Time Warner Inc. has not engaged in any talks with Microsoft Corp.
about selling its struggling America Online Inc. unit to the software vendor,
a Time Warner spokeswoman said today."
""The New York Post report is inaccurate. It isn't true,"
said Tricia Primrose, a Time Warner spokeswoman."
Notice the careful phrasing? It may mean that MS will not buy AOL.
Or, it may mean that MS will buy Time Warner itself, and AOL with it.
Stay tuned.
