It's not YOUR choice anymore! It's an obligation! The newer viruses/worms
grab email addresses off your system and spoof them, resulting in someone
you know having their address in the sender field of spam sent to thousands
of people. Spam sent to no longer active accounts bounces back to the
sender, in this case that someone whose email address was taken from your
system. They could get hundreds of bounced emails a day in their inbox, not
to mention that their address will also be harvested by some of the
recipients for even more spam. I'm not so sure that they will be pleased
with your glib approach about updating your antivirus definitions. It's not
just your system that you are protecting, it's the system of everyone whose
email address is on your system. Very few people have my personal email
address, the ones like you who are lax about antivirus updates, get my
hotmail email address.
