I'm not sure what you're asking but I suspect that it might be
about "System Resources."
If so, you need to be aware that System Resources was never a
measure of how much memory is available. In Windows 9X and
Millennium, the term 'System Resources' referred to two fixed
heaps of memory, each 64K in size. These heaps were called 'User
Resources' and 'GDI Resources,' and Windows used them to keep
track of running programs and graphic objects.
However that particular data structure doesn't exist in Windows
XP. That's one of XP's many improvements over 9X. There are no
System Resources to run out of or to be concerned with.
But if it's actually available RAM you're asking about, as a
general rule, you should not have *any* available RAM. Available
RAM is wasted RAM. You paid for all of it and shouldn't want to
see any of it wasted. Windows works hard to keep all your RAM
working for you all the time, for example using it for cache if
your apps don't need it, then taking it back again if your apps
need it later. This is *good*, not bad.
