I'm having a weird problem with Windows Media Player 9.00.00.3075 on
Windows XP Pro SP1.

When double clicking *any* media file associated with it, Windows
throws up an "open with" prompt every time. If "Windows Media Player"
is selected from the list and the "Always use..." check box is ticked,
the file opens. But once WM Player is closed and another file is
opened by double clicking, the prompt comes up again.

If the file is right clicked and "Play" is selected, the prompt
doesn't come up. It seems to only be affected by double clicking.

Tried so far:

1) "Play" is the default (the double-click) option on the right-click
context menu, it's highlighted.

2) Checked "File Types." Clicked on a media file, for example, mpeg,
and made sure that the default options WM Player options were enabled
for it.

3) On "Open With," tried selecting another player while ticking
"Always use..." "Open With" prompt then goes away for that player. If
switched back to WM Player, the problem recurs.

Not a big problem, but an annoying one I wish I could solve.
