If you can, boot into Safe Mode (F8 key when you power on, but BEFORE the
Windows XP logo). Once In Safe Mode, go to the Control Panel/Add or Remove
Programs, and uninstall the offending software. Then, use a System Restore
restore point from a date just prior to your installing the software that
caused the problem. (Access System Restore while still in Safe Mode, but
AFTER uninstalling the offending software). To access System Restore: click
Start button/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore. When
System Restore opens select the option: Restore my computer to an earlier
time, then click the NEXT button. The bold dates on the calendar in the
left pane are the dates which contain Restore Points. Select one just prior
to the date that you installed the offending software. Then follow the rest
of the System Restore wizard.
