Be sure you download the upgrade advisor from MS first to ascertain if
your hardware and software are compatible with XP.

Yes. XP will nicely install to any partition that is formatted to
FAT-16, FAT-32, or NTFS. Note, however, that XP will install boot
sector information and files to drive C even though the main portion
of the OS will be installed to drive E.

Yes. You can install your programs to drive E. If you have older 16
bit windows programs, they can probably be moved without reinstalling
since those programs usually do not enter information to the registry.
The machine will automatically startup to a boot menu. You'll see
boot items for XP and 98. By selecting XP as the default OS, it will
start automatically unless you tell it otherwise. This is controlled
from a system file called "boot.ini".

Yes you can, but here's where you have to be careful. Remember, XP
actually has its boot information on drive C along with essential
files needed. You can remove 98 later on but you need to be very
selective with what is removed or deleted. NEVER format drive C to
remove 98 since it will render XP dead in the water!

Have fun.
