Hi Alex,
If you have TweakUI installed go to the Control Panel Tab and make sure
inetcpl.cpl is checked. http://tinyurl.com/h8zs
If it is listed here in the right pane, delete it: Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\don't load

While cleaning my PC from parasites I inadvertently damaged IE6, together with a couple of other things. So, if I now go "Start">"Control Panel">"Network and Internet Connections", I only have "Network Connections" but "Internet Connection" icon has gone AWOL! 24/7 later and thanks to the help of some of the contributors to these pages I believe I managed to re-install IE6 but the "Internet Connection" doesn't want to come back. Does anybody know how to get the missing icon back? > > In the mean time, although IE6 is still not working, I can thankfully surf the Internet (and write this message) through AOL and my Firefox browser. >
