I have finally been able to get my system up and running
Windows XP Pro. I did this once before and I decided to
download SP1 and all of the Critical security updates, as
a result my system slowed down so bad it took over an hour
for it to startup. I reformatted the drive, but, couldn't
get Windows XP to install. After that I took it to a shop
because I couldn't get around the HAL.DLL errors I kept
getting, I now have the computer home and ready to go. One
of the first things I wanted to do was update to SP1, so I
did. Now my system is running slow. Not as slow as before,
but, it is slow. I am now scared to death to down load and
install the Critical Updates. I did do the Archive for the
SP1 Update, I also created a recover point in System
Recover. I have installed a few programs, but, I would
like to bring it to a halt until I hear from someone that
help me with this situation. I would appreciate it if
someone could get back with me as soon as possible. I know
people have had problems with SP1. Funny thing is, I had
absolutly no problem with it when I first installed it
over a year ago. Thank you for listening.
