Hi,

It's not the password, you need to take ownership of them. Right-click the
folder, select properties. Go to the security tab and click advanced. You
can take control of the folders on the owner tab. For the security tab to
appear in a WinXP Pro system, you must disable simple file sharing in the
control panel/folder options/view tab. For a WinXP Home system, you must
restart in safe mode and logon as administrator. More details here:

put it into an external 2.5 enclosure and I am able to access data on the
hard drive using my new desktop which has Windows XP Home installed on it.
My problem is that whenever I try to access my document folder in the
Documents and Settings directory, I get a message "Access Denied." I do
remember that I had set up a password. Can anyone assist?
