The resolution is 1400 by 1050 pixels. The exact wording for Display: 1. (Multiple Screen Monitors) on MOBILITY RADEON 9000. The screen above shows a large highlighted screen labeled 1 and a smaller screen on the right labeled 2. This is confusing as I only have this laptop and don't connect it to anything else except a my wireless home network. It must be nice to have dell anxious to please -- I find their support atrocious. This insperon is a replacement for the prior one which was a lemon. I kept getting does not recognize device message on start and the batterry would not charge. Dell replaced adapter, motherboard, battery and finally sent me a new inspiron. So far this one works fine except for the scrambled charts and type. When I bought the original inspiron I chose the best graphics card I could get at the time, knowing I would need it for the charts.
My other computer is a mac, so intuitive and easy, but unfortunately trading requires a pc
thanks much, christia

I have the same adapter in my Dell Latitude and the display is a little
strange (different than the other Latitudes at work that I've set up)... but
I never really cared, it's good enough for general network use. Some
graphics seem boxy... hard to explain... as you already know. What's the
screen resolution set to (you'll find it on the same dialog box as the
adapter)? Unless someone else here has a better answer, I can recall one of
my co-workers laptops for "maintenance" on Monday I take a peek at their
settings. Hopefully there is an updated driver that will fix the problem.
If I remember correctly Dell "upgraded" my display for free because they
were back-ordered on the cheaper type I originally ordered + my organization
drops a lot of cash at Dell and they want to keep us [me] happy.
Bummer, I need hot stock tip...
